Depends on the insect, of course. In Alvar products, we use black solder fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) protein. It is the most scientifically researched insect protein available and known to suit dogs well. "BSFL" protein includes all the amino acids necessary for dogs, and as a protein it is highly digestible for dogs. 

Insect protein can be a great solution for dogs with sensitivities or allergies.
